Michael

Week two of the latest term of the Portrait and Life Workgroup and Michael returns to model.

I particularly enjoyed doing the first two of the long poses (30-40 minutes), gouache on paper. Together with Michael's ruddy complexion, they provided the chance to be expressive in my use of colour.

The third pose was a bit rushed - but as Michael's posed looked like he had a tooth ache, the dad joke tooth hurty is reflected lightly in the ghostly image of the studio clock.

Finally, a couple of the charcoal quick sketches.
