Lisa on paper

The Christmas break gave me time to finish off a project I began during Covid - my collage of Lisa wearing her Vietnamese Áo dài costume. Some gouache paintings and charcoal sketches from when she posed for us in 2019 are here.

This artwork is another case of constrained creativity. The background was rendered using only upholstery/curtain fabric and Lisa's form and costume were rendered using only paper from knitting, quilting and embroidery patterns and charts sourced from magazines and books.

Lisa wearing her Áo dài, fabric and paper, 59.4 cm by 42 cm.

I am doing a number of other collage projects at the moment - and will post works in progress.
