Some more croquis.

Quick sketches can improve your ability to capture the essentials. It also helps to have a good model who can hold a challenging and expressive pose for the quick sketch. Here are some examples from the map cabinet.

The first two are very quick - sub one minute - sketches of a male model at the Putney School of At and Design (done in 2005). The next is a challenging pose drawn at the ANU School of Art external classes in 1998 or 1999. The last one takes us back to Putney for a drawing of the model (Annie) in a throwing javelin pose.

All drawings are short sketches sketches in charcoal on butchers paper/newsprint approx 58 cm by 80 cm.
