Chalk up another bargain from Paper & the Works.

I found a great bargain at yesterday's trip to Paper & the Works - a set of 72 Faber-Castell pastel crayons. Most have been barely used and they came in a presentation box. These will fit in nicely with my Conté crayons for the 2019 Summer Art Experience.

Because of their hard edges and square shape, this type of pastel is great for drawing. They are usually made of compressed powdered graphite or charcoal mixed with wax or clay. Unlike full pigment soft pastels or buttery oil pastels, the hardness and square profile make this type of crayon useful for detailed hatched work.

Here they are, together with some of the fabrics I bought yesterday.
